NACL
Catskills

NACL Catskills is our theatre center in Highland Lake,
in upstate New York, located two hours north of New York
City. It is a large church-turned-theatre, and a separate
artists' residence next door. At NACL Catskills we produce
The Catskill Festival of
New Theatre, an international festival and conference
of experimental and ensemble theatre (funded
in part by The National Endowment for the Arts, and The
New York State Council on the Arts). Since 2000 we
have held a festival every summer. Artists from across the
world perform for local audiences and participate in conferences
and training workshops with the other festival artists and
scholars.
At
NACL Catskills, we also:
- host
guest retreats for visiting theatre companies who need
time and space to work
- teach
The Catskill Performer Training
Retreat--a week-long actor training workshop intensive
- continue
to practice our training and develop our own performances
