WISHHOUNDS,
The Hidden Twin (Cleveland)
An unorthodox
book steers a young historian into the circle
of an antiquarian cult, whose ritual reenactments
threaten to shatter her conception of America's
beginnings. Cleveland-based Wishhounds marry
the writings of Nathaniel Hawthorne and the founding
fathers with evocative physicality and haunting
songs in a rare theatrical double-take on early
American history. The performance features the
ensemble of Holly Holsinger, Brett Keyser, Rebecca
Spencer, Tracy Broyles, Kristie Lang, Mariah
Sage Leeds, and is directed by acclaimed director,
Raymond Bobgan.

A World Premiere
VinSanto
reveals, through text, music, and physical action
a story inspired by the life of one of Italy's
most revered Saints. Actors Donald Kitt and Alessandra
di Castri interpret and create a new world inspired
by . VinSanto is performed in Italian and English,
and is directed by ex-Odin Teatret artist, Sylvia
Ricciardelli, a current teacher and performer of
Koreja in Lecce, Italy.

New York-based Lake Ivan Performance
Group creates unpredictable, visionary, and surreal
theater, laced with ironic humor. Actors David
Finkelstein and James Martin blend their voices
with a live sound mix created by Cassandra Weston,
while silent performer Agnes de Garron creates
visual magic from simple objects. At this 30-minute
performance, Lake Ivan will create a collage
of music, words, and images to transport you
to a strange inner landscape.

The Time Cycle is a performance
for young people ages 6 and up. A time pilot named
Grace Faluta is sent on a crazy adventure back
in time where she visits Albert Einstein, Leonardo
da Vinci, and a mysterious Medieval Alchemist.
Incorporating NACL signature theatre elements--
a capella song, stilt walking, and great costumes--
this 40 minute piece mixes science, art, and historical
facts to tell an adventurous tale of the power
of knowledge, imagination, and belief. The performance
features Tannis Kowalchuk, Brad Krumholz, and Megan
Wyler.

Murderers Bay, a solo show
written and performed by Los Angeles artist, Lisa
Black, is a spellbinding travelogue that explodes
with tales of battle and peaceful acts that beget
legends in New Zealand's Thermal District. Murderers
Bay strikes terror, makes you laugh, and speaks
directly from the heart of actress Lisa Black,
who has performed in Poland, Italy, Romania, Brazil,
Belgium, and across North America.

LAURA ASTWOOD, The Garden (Toronto)--
USA Premiere
The Garden introduces
us to a vigorous young woman who is dying and has
one hour before her spirit must depart for the
next place. With this impossible time-limit looming,
the performance explores the emotional and psychological
state of a woman whose time is up, and who must
leave life before she's ready. Toronto based actor
Laura Astwood and director Karin Randoja have created
an intricate and moving portrait, based on text
from the letters of Barbara Gosling Gray.

(New York)
The audience of 30 sits inside
the set to watch NACL Theatre actress, Tannis
Kowalchuk as G.H., an ordinary woman whose existence
is violently overturned by the discovery of an
enormous cockroach in her home. The performance
was adapted and directed by Brad Krumholz from
the novel The Passion according to G.H., by one
of Brazil's most famous authors, Clarice Lispector.
In April, 2001, The Village Voice wrote, "...Kowalchuk's
beautiful performance makes the evening a delight.
Kowalchuk has one of those qualities only good
Beckettian actors have: she manages to wrench
meaning and drive spectators to metaphysical
flights out of the most quotidian matters."

USA Premiere
Icaria is a kaleidoscopic
re-imagining of the Icarus myth, in which a woman
summons memories of her eccentric family and
her brother's wild dream of flight. Director
Ker Wells brings ten years of physical theatre
experience to this tale in which "...the
uniformly excellent cast dive deeply into their
characters, using not only the play's Albee-ish
dialogue, but dance, poetry, choral singing,
and almost acrobatic movement to tell Thomas's
story." (Toronto's Eye Magazine). A haunting
journey into the exquisite and terrifying wreckage
of childhood... The performance features Varrick
Grimes, Alex McLean, Liz Rucker, and Jane Wells.

(Brazil)
Mirrors
is performed by a Brazilian corporeal mime artist,
Selma Trevino, and co-directed by William Trevino.
Using the poems of Lope de Vega, Brazilian folk
songs, and a passage from The Book of Revelations,
Selma Trevino performs in Spanish, Portuguese,
and English, exploring humanity through the lives
of the Biblical Marys. Combining an extraordinary
physical talent with music and text, Trevino creates
an intimate space to share her perspective with
the spectators.

RELATIONS, Act Without Words I (Winnipeg, Canada)
Act Without Words 1 by Samuel Beckett is presented by Winnipeg theatre company
Spatial Relations. Directed by Ann Hodges, Act without Words I features
Stephen Lawson (formerly of Primus Theatre) as a man in a desert struggling
to make sense of the strange occurrences around him. Using elements
of vaudeville and clown, this short, silent play illuminates the futility
and absurdity of human existence.
